Death !!

The only undeniable truth of life is death. It’s ironic that we keep chasing life while hoping death never reaches us.

A true winner, in my view, is someone who can transcend this ultimate truth. To conquer death, one must overcome the cycle of birth, rebirth, and reincarnation itself. But the real question is—how?

Death is the deepest expression of life. It is truth, it is divine, it is the ultimate “yes,” while life often feels like a temporary “no.” It may sound depressing, but why does the truth feel this way? Because we run from it. We believe our current life is all we have. But remember: this world itself is part of the cycle of death and rebirth. I believe we are here because of the actions—good or sinful—of our past lives. So if we continue doing good, it will eventually return to us, if not now, then somewhere in this cosmic journey.

I believe our true self isn't what is seen through this physical body. We exist deep within, trapped within a body full of pain, emotions, and limitations. Death marks the end of this physical form—the end of suffering. In that sense, death is not something to fear; it is something to embrace.

Of course, this does not mean we should ever resort to suicide. Think of a prisoner serving a 10-year sentence. If he escapes after 5 years, he becomes a bigger criminal in the eyes of the law. But if he behaves well, acknowledges his mistakes, and serves responsibly, the court may free him early—perhaps after 8 years. His freedom comes because he accepted his path and fulfilled his duty.

Similarly, we are all ‘prisoners’ in the vast jail of the Almighty—or nature, or Bhagwan, Allah, Christ, Guru Nanak Dev Ji; the name doesn’t matter, for the truth is the same. If we try to escape life through suicide, we attempt to break the divine law and only worsen our spiritual journey. But if we accept life, learn from it, and complete our purpose, freedom will eventually come.

This also doesn’t mean abandoning daily responsibilities to live in the jungle for tapasya. We are here for a reason. Our duty is to discover that purpose and fulfill it. By doing this, we naturally serve the divine.

At the same time, we must avoid actions that are crimes against basic human conscience. Just as a prisoner who obeys the rules earns freedom, one who constantly breaks them—hurting others, refusing to work, creating unrest—remains trapped. Even if he leaves one prison, he enters another. Likewise, if we continue committing “common-sense crimes” like ego, envy, anger, hatred, neglecting our duties, harming others, or taking life, we remain stuck in the cycle of reincarnation—moving from one life to the next like different prisons.

I don’t know if this fully answers the deeper questions of existence, because the truth is simple yet incredibly complex. We are souls wrapped in a physical body, placed in a world full of emotions—positive and negative.

All we can do is try:
Think good.
Feel good.
Do good.
Live well.

And when the time comes, accept death—not with fear, but with understanding. It’s difficult, but at least we can try.

  1. True.. When we start a journey.. we have a destination.. which we decide.. But in life our journey is towards death, from day one.. because that is what will happen ultimately.. It is just that we sometimes do not want to look at it ... Nice :)
